Owing to the recent provision of tripod mountings there has been

a noticeable improvement in accuracy of fire, but more experience is required, especially when firing on an even plat_form. The new short range will be available for use next season and

should produce a great improvement. At present too much time

in Camp has to be expended in Table "C", which in future should

be completed before Camp. Field Firing was carried out daily

during Camp.

Scouts Company.

Drills and route marches have been carried out during the season

and men of the Seouts Section exercised in Secuting work in con-

Junetion with the other units. The men of the Machine Gun

Sections were also exercised in Table "G" Pt.1 and Machine Gun

work.

The Company, this season, went into Camp at the same time and

plase as the remainder of the Corps. The attendance during the

week-ends was good, but owing to the exigencies of business very

few attended during the remainder of the week.

I am of the opinion that a short Camp for this Company alone

during the Inas holidays in addition to the Corps Camp would

well repay the extra outlay.

Cadet Company.

This Company, recently formed, is now at full strength. Drills

have been held regularly from September to March inclusive and

the boys have been instructed also in swiming during the summer

months. The annual camp was held at Crown Point from January

2nd to 10th inelusive. Their work in Camp was inspected by the

Commandant, on January 3rd.

The annual Inspection of the Company has not yet been held but

will take plase shortly.

Musketry.

All units have been put through the Musketry Course laid down

for Infantry Territorial Forse - Arry Form E 569 attached.

The percentage of failures among trained men has been still

further reduced from last year. There has been a slight increase
